Best live-action movie adaptations of anime or manga
There are tons of live action adaptations from anime and manga out there, but, at least for western fans most of them are not good enough, I guess most of the fans hate the live action adaptation just for being 3D characters playing their loved 2D characters, but in many other cases the movies are in fact not good enough.

Natsuna, GANTZ live action actress bikini shots
On January next year GANTZ live action will be premiered in Japanese theaters and there’s a really cool trailer already, one that actually has movie scenes and characters talking, there were previous ones very shorts and with almost no content and even those looked good.
Live-Action Evangelion Project Still Active
Anime News Network has great news for all those Evangelion fanatics:
ANN Exclusive: On Thursday’s ANNCast podcast, producer Joseph Chou (Halo Legends, Appleseed: Ex Machina) said that the proposed live-action film adaptation of the Neon Genesis Evangelion anime is still “very active.” Chou is listed as a producer on the project. Chou mentioned that there is a lot of paperwork to clear, but “once that’s resolved, I think it would be on the fast track, so we’re hoping that it’ll start moving even next year.”

I think it’s great, just to think in such a successful anime to become a movie… I haven’t watched the anime but maybe I’ll watch the movie, and I think everybody would.
Beck Live Action Trailer
Rock manga based Live Action movie adaptation Beck has already released a short trailer in it’s official website (http://www.beck-movie.jp/). You can watch it there of here in this video from youtube.
Sailor Moon live action pantsu shots
Just a couple of screenshots found in a Japanese imageboard, of the live action adaptation of Sailor Moon. These are kind of old but still nice, it’s even Koike Rina loli sailor scout just below showing pantsu.
Gantz Live Action teaser Trailer
Another live action adaptation from a great manga, Gantz live action movie released a 15 seconds teaser trailer in which you can hardly see something meaningful but it’s still looks well.
This movie is planned to premier in spring 2011 and there would be a second part at end of that same year.
Kazunari Ninomiya, from boyband Arashi, will star this adaptation as Kei Kurono and Kenichi Matsuyama best know as L in Death Note live action movies will be playing Masaru Kato’s part. (more…)
Space Battleship Yamato Live-Action Movie Trailer
Leiji Matsumoto’s space opera manga based Space Battleship Yamato (宇宙戦艦ヤマト) live action movie has now a first 30 seconds teaser trailer. I would say that it looks like any Japanese movie from 10 years ago but with a higher budget, and most of the recent movies look like that. But that’s awesome, in fact I don’t know is I want them to change. (more…)
